Inspection and Quality Control
Unmatched Quality Control from Start to Finish
At Leading Edge Manufacturing, quality isn’t just a checkpoint—it’s built into every step of our process. As we work toward ISO 9001:2015 certification, we hold ourselves to uncompromising standards, using structured inspections and quality management systems to ensure every product meets or exceeds expectations. From raw material checks to final part verification, our commitment to precision ensures your project is delivered exactly as specified—on time and within budget.

- Consistent Accuracy Across Every Project
Our Inspection Process
Our inspection and quality control process is built to catch issues before they ever reach your door. From the moment materials arrive, we implement a multi-stage quality assurance system that includes material verification, first article inspections, in-process checks, and final approval. Each stage is designed to ensure dimensional accuracy, proper function, and visual appeal.Â
Material Inspection
As soon as material for a project is received, it has to be inspected and tagged as approved before it can be used.
We check the quantity, size, alloy, and aesthetics of the material to be received to verify it is what was ordered.
First Article
Oftentimes, quality issues and production shortfalls are often only revealed when the production process begins. The purpose of the First Article Inspection is to identify and correct any of these issues before they are encountered on a larger batch run.
The First Article Inspection focuses on dimensions and tolerances, fit and function, aesthetics, weld quality, material verification, product testing, and documentation and traceability.
In-Process Inspection
In-process inspections are conducted at various stages of production to ensure compliance with quality, production and workmanship standards before continuing to the next phase of production.
In-Process Inspections focus on checking dimensions and tolerances, aesthetics, weld quality, material verification, and documentation and traceability.
NDE Inspections
Paint Testing
Final Inspection
The Final Inspection is the last step in our manufacturing process. During this inspection, we determine whether the complete product meets all internal and external standards set for the product. Every product that goes out of our door is required to pass a Final Inspection, ensuring that we always maintain our standard of quality.
The Final Inspection focuses on dimensions and tolerances, fit and function, aesthetics, weld quality, material verification, product testing, and documentation and traceability.
FAQs About Inspection & Quality Control
Material Inspection ensures that all incoming materials meet specified requirements before production begins. We verify quantity, size, alloy, and aesthetics to confirm they align with project specifications.
A First Article Inspection is performed at the start of production to validate that the manufacturing process produces parts that meet all requirements. It focuses on dimensions, tolerances, fit, function, and overall quality.
We implement In-Process Inspections at various production stages. These inspections monitor dimensions, aesthetics, weld quality, and material verification to maintain consistent quality throughout manufacturing.
While we don’t perform NDE in-house, we collaborate with certified third-party professionals who conduct NDE tests such as Magnetic Particle Testing (MT), Dye-Penetrant Testing (PT), Ultrasonic Testing (UT), and Visual Examination Testing (VT) to ASNT-TC1 standards.
Post-powder coating, our inspectors assess paint quality using three methods: measuring coating thickness (millage), evaluating the degree of cure, and testing adhesion to ensure a durable and high-quality finish.
Our final inspection is a comprehensive review ensuring the product meets all internal and external standards. It includes checks on dimensions, fit, function, aesthetics, weld quality, material verification, and documentation.
We are actively working towards ISO 9001:2015 certification. In the meantime, we maintain strict quality management systems to ensure our products meet high industry standards.
We maintain detailed records at every inspection stage, ensuring full traceability of materials and processes. This documentation supports quality assurance and facilitates any necessary audits or reviews.
